Lights...Parades...Races! How will you approach life differently, knowing what you’ve learned from 2024?

It’s December in WNC, and the Christmas lights around our towns stand in stark contrast to the stillness of the surrounding landscape. After the devastation of the storm, those lights represent resilience, a reminder that despite challenges, we have not lost hope. As humans, we’ve always been drawn to light—it symbolizes hope and healing. In a "normal" year, the limited daylight of winter can weigh on our mood and motivation, but this season, those Christmas lights are more than just festive; they are a reminder to the healing power of the Light,  There is definitely a spiritual connection to light and it triggers something deep in our soul.    That is not an accident and we challenge you to ponder that this season…..

We’ve been intentional ourselves about spending time back outdoors to soak in the benefits of sunshine. You’ve probably seen us out and about for a "staff meeting," a walk around town. Vitamin D, known for its feel-good properties, plays a crucial role in maintaining our mental well-being. This Christmas season, we challenge you to be creative in how you get your natural light.

Speaking of light and festivities, how about the Black Mountain Christmas Parade this year?? MTN Wellness was proud to have our own float, and seeing so many of you there, celebrating the community.  At the same time as the parade,  many of our clients were participating in the Old Fort Endurance Fest, an event that raised over a million dollars for recovery efforts in Old Fort. We are constantly amazed by the dedication and endurance shown by those who take on 6, 12, and 24-hour races. Your perseverance is truly inspiring.

As we look into January and 2025, we consider how we have all changed this past year. The challenges we’ve faced, particularly the aftermath of Helene, have shaped us all in different ways. As we move forward into the new year, we ask: How will you approach life differently, knowing what you’ve learned from 2024?
